Truthspan founder and president, Greg Ellison, is a retired FBI agent who the FBI selected to attend the U.S. Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (now known as the National Academy of Credibility Assessment) at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. After graduating from the school, Ellison spent the last 13 years of his FBI career administering polygraph exams in support of all FBI programs to include applicants, criminal matters, national security matters, informants, personnel security matters, and matters pertaining to internal affairs. Ellison was also an instructor at the FBI Academy who helped train new FBI agents and police officers from all over the world. His assignments on behalf of the FBI took place in numerous field office territories throughout the United States as well as at FBI Headquarters. He has additionally administered polygraph exams in support of state and local police agencies and the U.S. State Department abroad. He is licensed, a member of the American Polygraph Association, and has administered over 2,000 polygraph exams to a diverse pool of examinees from nearly every continent.

Administering polygraph exams in a manner that is both fair to the matter under inquiry and fair to the examinee is a foremost consideration in how we carry out our work. We believe that the age old motto, “Treat others as you’d like to be treated” is a vitally important aspect of the polygraph process – not only for the examinee who’s sitting in the polygraph chair – but for others who have a vested interest in the polygraph outcome as well.
The pursuit of truth is the overarching reason why a polygraph examiner’s expertise is sought in any given scenario. It’s been said that the quest for this often elusive goal (truth) has been eternal prompting questions such as, “Where can I find the truth? Who’s telling the truth?”. These same questions – in situations with limited, hidden, or no evidence – challenge investigators, attorneys, employers, adjudicators, and probation officers in their work as well as individuals regarding private matters. It is for scenarios such as these that the “polygraph process” offers a scientific method for credibility assessment that’s based upon over 100 years of collective research and application.
